Italian National Plan for Recovery and Resilience: Innovation as the Future core of Health
Organised by the D³4HEALTH Foundation (Digital Driver Diagnostics Digital Driven Diagnostics, prognostics and therapeutics for sustainable Health care), whose centre is the Sapienza University in Rome, Italy, a conference entitled “The future of health, innovation at the heart of the Italian complementary plan” was held on 26 October 2023 at its Museum of Classical Art.
The networking event focussed on the challenges faced by the four winning initiatives of the “Notice for the granting of funding for research initiatives for innovative technologies and paths in the health and care sector“, launched by the Health Mission of the National Plan for Complementary Investments to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP): D³4HEALTH (Digital Driver Diagnostics Digital Driven Diagnostics, prognostics, and therapeutics for sustainable Health care), Sapienza University of Rome; FIT4MEDROB (Fit for Medical Robotics), National Research Council of Italy; DAREDigital Lifelong Prevention, Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna; and ANTHEM (AdvaNced Technologies for HumancentrEd Medicine), University of Milano-Bicocca.
The day’s programme also included a presentation on the European Commission’s initiatives by Marco Marsella, Head of Unit H3, eHealth, Well-Being and Ageing, Directorate-General for Communication Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT) of the European Commission, and a presentation on the EDITH-CSA by Liesbet Geris, Professor of Biomechanics and Computational Tissue Engineering at the University of Liège and KU Leuven, and Executive Director of the VPH Institute.
